This book was beautiful, emotional, and heartbreaking。 It was an incredible story, with so many twists。 It will definitely stay with me for many years to come。 Emma’s story is complicated, and my heart hurt for her。 What a powerful and raw story。 I highly recommend this one。。

Amy Hietapelto,
Excellent。 Sad, though。 Sheds a light on mental illness issues such as depression。
Amy Licata,
great premiseAs a person who, once confronted with a mystery, has to read the back of the book, many books are ruined。 But even after I read a part of the ending, I was still engaged with the need to know how and why, and this mystery was not solved by an ending, but by the slow unfolding of the story。

Rosie Walsh is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors。 Her books remind me a lot of Lianne Moriarty circa Big Little Lies era, and I LOVE THEM。 This year I've decided to be more liberal with my five stars, but this deserves it regardless。 🙃We follow multiple characters in about a million different timelines, yet it was never confusing to listen to or read (I did both) Rosie Walsh is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors。 Her books remind me a lot of Lianne Moriarty circa Big Little Lies era, and I LOVE THEM。 This year I've decided to be more liberal with my five stars, but this deserves it regardless。 🙃We follow multiple characters in about a million different timelines, yet it was never confusing to listen to or read (I did both) 。。。more

Fast, interesting read that you can’t put down strangely for some reason。 Emma is a well-known marine biologist and Leo, her husband, is an obituary writer for a British paper。 Emma is coming off treatment for her cancer and both are anxious over the results of the treatment when Emma’s secrets start to unravel。 It starts as Leo prepares an obituary for Emma - I guess papers keep these pre-obits handy “just in case。” He looks through Emma’s folder of events and finds it appears to be depleted。 S Fast, interesting read that you can’t put down strangely for some reason。 Emma is a well-known marine biologist and Leo, her husband, is an obituary writer for a British paper。 Emma is coming off treatment for her cancer and both are anxious over the results of the treatment when Emma’s secrets start to unravel。 It starts as Leo prepares an obituary for Emma - I guess papers keep these pre-obits handy “just in case。” He looks through Emma’s folder of events and finds it appears to be depleted。 So he searches and locates them hidden in the house。 What he discovers piques his curiosity and as in any thriller, the chase is on。 This is a classic “I married a stranger” novel as one reviewer noted but not spoilers here; you have to read the book to learn more。 Suffice it to say there are lots of twists and turns that keep you guessing。 Enjoyable read。 。。。more

The Love of My Life is a quick, engaging, emotional read。 A story told in multiple timelines, with plenty of twists (a bit overdramatically drug out, resulting in a 4-star vs。 5-star rating) to keep the pages turning--this was a finish-in-one-sitting for me! This is my second read of Ms Walsh's, and I look forward to reading more of hers in the future! My thanks to PENGUIN GROUP Viking and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this title。 The Love of My Life is a quick, engaging, emotional read。 A story told in multiple timelines, with plenty of twists (a bit overdramatically drug out, resulting in a 4-star vs。 5-star rating) to keep the pages turning--this was a finish-in-one-sitting for me! 3。5 StarsThe Love of My Life was rather slow-moving for the first 50% as the mystery was gradually set up。 After a significant amount of Emma's history was established, there began what appeared to be some possible thriller elements that were only hinted at in the first half。 The story was told in both Emma and Leo's POVs。 Neither narrative was especially compelling, but I definitely felt more for Leo and his sudden awareness of the truths withheld。 It sped up considerably in the second half and 3。5 StarsThe Love of My Life was rather slow-moving for the first 50% as the mystery was gradually set up。 After a significant amount of Emma's history was established, there began what appeared to be some possible thriller elements that were only hinted at in the first half。 The story was told in both Emma and Leo's POVs。 Neither narrative was especially compelling, but I definitely felt more for Leo and his sudden awareness of the truths withheld。 It sped up considerably in the second half and I found it much more compelling。 I was definitely curious about the unraveling of the mystery details。 What this story wasn't - a thriller。 There were moments of light suspense, but overall, it was more domestic drama than anything else。 I really enjoyed this author's previous book, Ghosted, but this one was just okay。 The second half made up for its plodding first half。 。。。more
Alicia Primer,
Not really a thriller, more a slow moving domestic mystery。

3。5⭐️ rounded up。 This took a while to pick up。 The beginning was slow, and I was considering jumping ship。 I am glad I stuck with it, though I don’t know if this is one I’d actively recommend。 I really enjoyed her book Ghost much more。
Jodi Golis,
Emma and her husband Leo are relieved to hear some fantastic news about Emma’s health。 But just when they think life is about to become easy and predictable, a 20 year old secret begins to unravel。 I enjoyed reading this book。 There were many twists, some I felt were pretty obvious, but it is a fast read and an interesting story。
Debbie,
I don't know what I was expecting, but this wasn't it。 And I don't mean that in a bad way。I love the way this author told the story。 It was part romance, part mystery。 Two points of view。 Two time periods。 Lots of twists and things that keep you guessing。 I don't know what I was expecting, but this wasn't it。 And I don't mean that in a bad way。I love the way this author told the story。 It was part romance, part mystery。 Two points of view。 Two time periods。 Lots of twists and things that keep you guessing。 。。。more

If there was an option, i would give the book a 4。5/5 but sadly there is not。 100% would recommend this book to anyone who loves a little romance with a lot of mystery。
Kathy,
Not being a romance fan, I was dubious about this novel。 But RW quickly rolled me into this intricate love affair with the characters。 She paints the characters with real-life complexity。 Plus, she skillfully immersed a romance in a craftily written mystery, but without the murder。 This novel is spellbinding!
Mikaela Groen,
I found the first half of this book kind of boring and really annoying。 I thought the second half would be better, and it kind of was, but it just left me questioning why couldn’t you have told your husband all of these secrets and we wouldn’t be here in the first place ?? 🤔
Kathleen Kilmarx,
I loved this book and all the characters!!! It was a quick snd suspenseful read。
Christina,
Was really looking forward to this one。 Started very slow for me but picks up second half。 Someone else mentioned in their review it felt like the book The Last Thing He Told Me and the agree。
Rita Brutsch,
Compulsively readable, unputdownable, a page turner。 Enough said!
Amanda Pagan,
I bought this book knowing nothing about it to read on a long flight。 I could not put it down even after we landed! The writing was beautiful with such lovely descriptions, and the story had me hooked。 Definitely one I would recommend!

I was so excited I won this book。 What a wonderful read。 I thoroughly enjoyed it。 Nobody said life was fair or easy。 Just have faith。 Secrets can eat you alive Thanks for picking me !!
Regina M。,
This book was a little slow-going in the beginning, I felt。 Once it picked up, then it moved rapidly。
Purpose,
This is one of those books that gives little clues as you read and if you catch on then it won’t be a huge shocker。 This book had little hints and shocks all over it。 I loved how the author alternated between Emma and Leo。 Wife and husband。 I loved seeing through both their eyes。 This book spans over some years… it was enjoyable and I loved getting through this story。 My emotions were so all over the place。

3。5 stars rated up to 4。 Not as good as I was hoping and expecting, but it will still an intriguing story。 It started out a little slow for me but then picked up and finished off pretty strong。 Another review I read compared this book to Laura Daves book, The Last Thing He Told Me, and I 100% agree。 Definitely felt those vibes all through the book but this one had a lot better ending, in my opinion。 There were a few twists and turns I didn’t seem coming and I felt some suspense too while reading 3。5 stars rated up to 4。 Not as good as I was hoping and expecting, but it will still an intriguing story。 It started out a little slow for me but then picked up and finished off pretty strong。 Another review I read compared this book to Laura Daves book, The Last Thing He Told Me, and I 100% agree。 Definitely felt those vibes all through the book but this one had a lot better ending, in my opinion。 There were a few twists and turns I didn’t seem coming and I felt some suspense too while reading this。 The characters in the book are well developed and done well。 Overall, a great book that I would recommend。 。。。more

Oh, this is great! I can see why some people may get annoyed with many of the choices made。 I however, loved this book。It’s a family mystery, but also such a great love story(stories)。 It’s really unlike other books I’ve read, which added to how much I loved it。 I finished the whole thing in 48 hours。 I would have read it all in one day, but I had to put it down and go to bed。 😂What if you don’t know the love of your life, your partner, your co-parent, like you were sure you did? It’s not an unusual concept, but the way it plays out is beautiful。 It’s paced well, and there are little nuggets of discovery all throughout。 I adore Leo。 He is a fantastic and real character。 I felt so bad for him often! But he and Emma’s love jumps off the page, regardless of the lies。I really enjoyed the ending。 There’s another twist toward the end I did NOT see coming。 I loved how an additional character was brought in toward the end, in such a mature and not stereotyped way。 Go read this one! Would likely be a good book club pick too! 。。。more
